There comes a moment in healing when we begin searching for ourselves again. Not the version shaped by survival, expectations, grief, or exhaustion, but the quieter version underneath it all. The one that still remembers how to feel connected to the earth, to culture, to spirit, and to our own body, to our ancestors. Tree of Life, part of my Returning to Ourselves collection, was born from that search.

You must go past that first glance, the longer you sit with her the more she reveals. Her body twists into branches and roots, carrying the same quiet strength so many women carry every day. She represents the life-giving force women hold within them, not only through motherhood, but through nurturing families, communities, being the keeper of traditions, and the creator of futures. She is Mother Earth. She is Grandmother Willow. She is every woman who has learned how to bend without breaking.

Around her flow pools energy, moving through the painting like emotion, memory, and spirit. They represent the invisible things we carry inside us, our pain, our healing, our intuition, our joy, and the parts of ourselves we are slowly learning to reconnect with again. Nothing about the movement is perfect or still because healing itself is never perfect.

Allow yourself to look past here to the maze of sky. Blank space draws you in, inviting reflection, contradiction, and wonder. Our minds are often complicated places to live in. Thoughts loop. Memories linger. Trauma reshapes pathways. Hope and fear can exist together. Much like the winding journey so many of us take while trying to find our way back to ourselves.
